Volunteering Opportunities
Trustee
Location: Nant-y-Cwm Steiner School
Hours: Negotiable
Salary: N/A
Contract: Voluntary
The vacancy will remain open until filled.
Nant-y-Cwm Steiner Waldorf School, founded in 1979, is one of around 1,100 Steiner Waldorf Schools across 60 countries – the largest independent educational movement in the world.
Our warm and friendly school is located in a wooded valley beside the Eastern Cleddau River in rural Pembrokeshire. We provide an education at Nant-y-Cwm that fosters the healthy development of each individual child, enabling them to reach their potential and to develop the skills they need to contribute to society and the world around them. We cater for children from Parent and Toddler through to 14.
We are seeking to add to our existing trustee board and particularly welcome those with skills and experience in business management (financial, personnel, marketing, health and safety, fundraising etc.), education, and environmental project management (woodland management, conservation, etc.)
Our trustees hold ultimate responsibility for the charity and limited company; they support and monitor those involved in the direct running of the School. They are not involved in the day to day management issues. Nant-y-Cwm School does not generally appoint parents or close relatives onto its trustee body, to avoid potential conflicts of interest which may otherwise arise; however, we may exceptionally consider doing so for candidates who demonstrate proven ability in the areas identified above. Trustees that are recruited from the parent body are on a rota of a one year term, with the possibility of being invited to continue for a further year if it suits all parties to extend the term.
If you would like more information or to express an interest please email the existing trustees trustees@nant-y-cwm.co.uk.
We value a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
